Today, PM Narendra Modi is in Ukraine for his much-anticipated trip after wrapping up his two-day visit to Poland. He met Ukrainian PM Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on whose invitation he is in the conflict-torn nation.

This is the first visit by an Indian PM to Ukraine, nearly six weeks after he visited Russia to discuss the conflict-ridden situation in the region.
PM Modi's visit to Poland after four decades will widen and deepen India-Poland ties, according to the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal.
During the Indian PM's visit to Ukraine, the UN secretary-general's office expressed optimism that the war might be brought to an end.
In his statement, PM Modi said, "As a friend and partner, we hope for an early return of peace and stability to the region."
It will be my pleasure to share perspectives on peaceful solutions to the ongoing Ukraine conflict and build upon earlier conversations with President Zelenskyy about strengthening bilateral cooperation. Earlier this year, the Ukrainian PM congratulated PM Modi on his election victory.
