Kangana Received Beheaded death Threat - Movie Issue

Kangana Ranaut receives death threats ahead of "Emergency" movie release, seeks police intervention

Kangana Ranaut, who stars in and directs the film *Emergency*, is preparing for its release in theaters on September 6. The movie revolves around the period of Emergency declared in India by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

BJP MP from Mandi and actress Kangana Ranaut has received death threats from radical Sikh groups following the release of her movie trailer. Kangana portrays former PM Indira Gandhi in *Emergency*, and the film is scheduled to release on September 6. After a threatening video surfaced online, she reached out to the police for protection.

In the viral video, a radical Sikh figure references the assassination of Indira Gandhi, issuing a threat to Kangana. The individual warns, "If Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale is depicted as a terrorist in the film, remember what happened to the person (Indira Gandhi) whose role you are playing, and remember who Satwant Singh and Beant Singh were. We will offer our head to Santji, and those who can offer their head can also take others' heads."

Kangana seeks action from Himachal, Punjab, Maharashtra police

Bhindranwale was a Khalistani militant killed during Operation Blue Star, which led to Indira Gandhi’s assassination on October 31, 1984, by her bodyguards, Satwant Singh and Beant Singh. Kangana shared the video on social media platform X, asking the police to take action. She tagged the DGPs of Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab, requesting them to investigate.

Controversy surrounding *Emergency Movie

The film has faced opposition as the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has called for a ban on Kangana's directorial work. SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami criticized the portrayal of Bhindranwale, a figure declared a martyr by the Akal Takht Sahib, claiming he is depicted in a negative light in the film.
