Former NCP Corporator Vanraj Andekar Shot Dead in Pune
In a shocking incident, former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator Vanraj Andekar was brutally shot and killed in Pune’s Nana Peth area on Sunday night (September 1). Andekar, who sustained five gunshot wounds, was also attacked with sharp weapons by unidentified assailants. Despite being rushed to KEM Hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. The police have launched a full-scale investigation, with forensic teams already at the crime scene.

Additionally, the Andekar gang, led by Suryakant Andekar, has a notorious criminal history involving various serious offenses.

The motive behind this brutal attack remains unclear, but rising gang tensions and recent failed attempts on the life of a rival gang member, Atul Kudale, are believed to be contributing factors.
