Ladakh's Home Ministry announces five new districts
The new districts will "bring the benefits meant for the people to their doorsteps," said Home Minister Amit Shah.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Monday that five new districts will be created in Ladakh.
Zanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra and Changthang are among these districts.
Leh and Kargil are the two districts that make up the Union Territory, according to the Ladakh administration's website.
There were six sub-divisions in Leh and four in Kargil.
It has been decided by the MHA to create five new districts in Ladakh in pursuit of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji's vision of developing and prospering the country. By strengthening governance in every nook and cranny of Zanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra and Changthang, Shah said in a post on X, the new districts will bring benefits to people's doorsteps.

According to Shah, the Modi government is committed to creating abundant opportunities for the people of Ladakh.
