 8 Railway Stations in Lucknow Division Officially Renamed

Lucknow: Eight railway stations in the Lucknow division of Northern Railways have been officially renamed after saints and freedom fighters, as per an announcement made on Tuesday.

According to an order issued by Northern Railways, Kasimpur Halt will now be called Jais City, Jais will be known as Guru Gorakhnath Dham, Misrauli has been renamed Maa Kalikan Dham, Bani is now Swami Paramhans, Nihalgarh is Maharaja Bijli Pasi, Akbarganj is now Maa Ahorwa Bhawani Dham, Warisganj is Amar Shahid Bhale Sultan, and Fursatganj will be Tapeshwarnath Dham.

The renaming of these stations followed a request made by former Amethi MP Smriti Irani to preserve the cultural heritage and identity of the region.
